The Director of the Legon Centre for Education Research and Policy (LECERP), Dr. Clement Adamba, held an introductory meeting with the newly elected executives of the UNESCO Club, University of Ghana Chapter (UNESCO Club-UG Chapter). The meeting, provided an opportunity for the Director to formally welcome the executives, share his vision and outline the support LECERP intends to provide as the host institution for the club.
In his remarks, Dr. Adamba underscored the significance and responsibility of establishing an international club on campus, noting the commitment required from the executives and members to sustain its activities. He indicated that the Centre’s support will focus on strengthening leadership capacity through tailored training programmes, building the research competencies of executives and members in areas such as study design and data analysis, providing continuous mentorship and institutional guidance, and facilitating access to international opportunities within the broader UNESCO network, including conferences and exchange programmes. He further encouraged the executives to consider future academic pathways in the University and worldwide while urging them to serve as responsible ambassadors of both the Club and LECERP.

The executives, in turn, outlined their vision to actively support the mandate of the Club while contributing to the Centre’s broader objectives. They highlighted their commitment to engaging the student body in meaningful initiatives aimed at advancing the educational, scientific and cultural goals of the wider UNESCO framework.

In brief remarks, the President Elect of the Club, Mr. Emmanuel Johnson Egyire, expressed appreciation for the Director’s guidance and affirmed the team’s readiness to work collaboratively to strengthen the Club’s presence and impact on campus.
Officials from LECERP who were present at the meeting included Dr. Martin Wiredu Agyekum, Research Fellow; Mr. John Baptiste Akanwake, Principal Research Assistant and Audrey Djarbeng, Administrative Secretary of the Centre.
