The Africa Regional Education Systems Resilience Observatory (ARESRO) Project seeks to strengthen the resilience of education systems in Ghana by collating evidence, engaging key stakeholders, and translating research findings into actionable strategies. The vision of the observatory is an education ecosystem in Global Partnership for Education (GPE) partner countries that is optimally aware of shocks, stressors, vulnerability factors, and critical capacities affecting their resilience to adversity currently and in the future, and harnesses this awareness to develop mitigation and adaptation plans to address current and future risks of different magnitudes, to ensure sustainable education outcomes.

The ARESRO Project aims to achieve three core objectives, namely:

  1. To gain a deeper understanding of the current state of education system resilience.
  2. To explore the potential impact of future shocks and stressors, risk, vulnerability, and capacities (absorptive, adaptive, and transformative) on future education ecosystems and outcomes.
  3. To identify and support effective approaches and planning to address the future shocks and stressors, risks, vulnerabilities, and capacity for better education system resilience.
