Who we are

The Legon Centre for Education Research and Policy (LECERP) is the research wing of the College of Education, University of Ghana established in 2024. LECERP’s activities are anchored on three connecting pillars: Research, Training and Capacity-Building, and Advocacy. The Centre is dedicated to advancing the college’s research intensive ambitions and contributing significantly to the University’s broader goal of becoming a world-class research-intensive institution.

Our Goals

The goals of the Centre are hinged on a three-pronged approach to advancing educational research and policy. These are:

  • World-class research: The Centre seeks to undertake world class research and lead the debates on educational policies and programmes.
  • Capacity building: The Centre offers the policy and programme community with clear research evidence and support in building the capacity of graduate students and early career researchers.
  • Align Policy and Practice: The Centre contributes to the development of a research-based understanding of policy and practice in education.
